In creation God made light before He made the source, like the sun.  plants need the sun, plants give out oxygen in which we breath no sun .. no plants ... no oxygen ... no humans ... no life  No  And nothing for a planet to orbit... God created such elements as Light, water, for living things as we know to live and grow.

The sun gives us light, heat, and allows God's Plan to work. Plants and trees grow  and produce food for our bodies.  The plants filter our air and allows us to oxygen. Without AIR we cannot live.  Like Everlasting life, without Jesus we can not live forever.  No Jesus...No Life.

God had a plan in Creation that the Light would give Life.  And in that same darkness comes The Light of the World Jesus  Christ so that we may have life everlasting.

Man made certain choices as we all do in life, which lead Him into sin. So sin is like darkness, so God sent His son...JESUS  the Dayspring from on high to give us all light again.

 The sun helps change things, [evaporation] moves the water up into the sky, clouds and makes the rain to fall everywhere so that things can grow. Just as a Ice cube is water, it becomes frozen, then thaws back into water. These changes come but the water is still water.  Like the Holy Spirit of God Three but ONE.
