We must begin to "TRAIN" our youth that they may depend upon the Manna from heaven each day placing God first and less on what they can do for themselves. This is a exciting way for the youth to learn about serving others. Gathering around a campfire, sharing, praying, praising, having fun while being trained such a important life building character building trat......be all that you can be for others in the name of Jesus. Camping for Life....that life is for others
First it is important to train the youth just what the word "mission" really is. They must vocus upon what the Bible instructs not the world. Definition of MISSION: Frequently used to mean your goal, purpose or objective at your workplace, or in your personal life.
What is there GOD or objective in life? SELF or OTHERS? What does mission. Mean? We are not going on a special mission trip our life is a mission everyday. A mission with one purpose. What is that purpose? Loving God and Magnifying His Son. We are not going to a distant place to do a task. We are going to a different place to be a tool in the hand of the Master Craftsman. We are the tool not the muscle behind the tool. We have not surrendered to a task; - we have surrendered to a Person, with only one responsibility. That is to let Him use us as a tool in whatever way He sees fit.
By gathering once a month, in a camping type setting, you can "train" youth and children about the mission field. Select a project each month for the youth to do. If it be cleaning up a house for a elderly person, or visiting the local soup kitchen, making boxes to give to the needy, writting to missionaries, taking on a project to make funds to send to a certain missionary, or giving to a local family in need. The idea is to "train" our youth that they too can be a missionary anywhere in the world. Right there where they live.
In today's world all around us ourchildren are being taught, do whats best for you, yourself, depend upon no one else but you. They are taught to prepare for the future indeed. Kids today are filled with fear, worry, and should be taught that the GRACE of God brings us new manna from heaven each and every day. To depend upon JESUS first, each day in their life, not on what THEY CAN DO, not on what they can accomplish but to train them to be DEPENDANT upon the all living GOD. One must become humble not prideful. The army of our country says "Be all that you can be" Well we as Christian parents, grandparents and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ must train our children to be all that they can be through JESUS not SELF. Mission projects can be done local, within the community there is those who are in need.
