I welcome you to The Keyboards for Christ Music Ministry's New 2012 Vacation Bible School Program Hiking for Life. The Bible school literature that we have produced in recent decades is woefully anemic. It is hard to find material that is strong in doctrine. The current slick and colorful literature is filled with case-study scenarios and role-playing exercises that rely more on human wisdom than a respect for the authority of Gods Word. Lets get back to the basics.

The pilot program was hosted at my church The Dallas Presbyterian church in Dallas Wv It was a huge sucess with some 57 children attending for all three days. We began to set up on Tuesday as I gazed into the setting sun with the Ark of the Covenant in the backround I thought to myself, Wow I could not even come up with words to discribe it. From walking sticks gathered in the woods to this Ark made from a cardboard box and painted, will the children be excitied about Bible themes rather than the worldly themes coated with scripture? Well tomorrow wi ll tell I guess as we finished up. Wednesday came and as the children picked out their sticks you would have thought you had given them the greatest gift ever, I knew then that the annointed indeed was upon this program. From the time the children entered the sanctuary and began to sing, the very gates of heaven opened and the sanctuary was filled with the presence of God. I simply say, AMEN and praise the Lord for He is worthy of all praise, glory and honor. The second day children brought their friends, and the Third day with the hike to Calvary with their parents was breathtaking. We may not be able to change the world, but we can make a difference wherever we are to the people we rub shoulders with everyday. We can be a tool that God uses to accomplish whatever He wills. Whether local or foreign, the call is to serve and love. Jesus was set aside for the purpose of the Father, we should do the same.(Proverbs 3:5-6) We must "TRAIN" our children and youth for this MISSION in each of their lives.
